Obtain a Canada Second Passport
Canada offers an investment immigration program that allows those who invest a substantial amount of money into the Canadian economy, to obtain full citizenship status and also obtain a Canada second passport. Once the applicant has obtained economic citizenship they are entitled to the same benefits as all natural born Canadian citizens.
The economic citizenship program requires the applicant to have business experience, whether that is in the form of ownership of a business or a full time position within a business for 5 years prior to their economic citizenship application date.
If the applicant qualifies under the business experience requirement, they must also satisfy the net worth requirement, which is CND $1,600,000. In addition to the financial standing requirement, the applicant or investor as they are more formally known, must then make an investment of CND $800,000. This investment is to be paid to the Receiver General of Canada and will then be issued to participating provinces in Canada who will then use the capital to invest into the economy.
The investment paid to the Receiver General of Canada is paid back to the investor after a 5 year period.
In order to obtain the economic citizenship the investor must have proof of language proficiency in either English of French and a language test will be given. The investor must also provide proof of medical health by passing a medical examination.
The final requirement is for the investor to provide a police-clearing certificate.
