The Canadian Citizenship Program
The Canada investment immigration option is an investor program that allows individuals to deposit a specified amount of capital into the Canadian government. Any applicant that qualifies for the Canada second passport program is required to have a net worth of CND$1,600,000. Further to this, the applicant is required to pay CND$800,000 to the Receiver General of Canada.
When beginning the process of obtaining Canadian second citizenship through investment immigration, it is important to fulfill certain requirements:
Business experience: To obtain a second passport in Canada the applicant must have professional business experience that includes the management of a qualified business and control of a percentage of equity for at least two years.
Proof of language proficiency: In addition to the above, you must acquire points for language proficiency in French and/or English by completing a language test conducted by the Canadian Immigration Consultancy (CIC). This must be carried out prior to starting the immigration process.
Medical requirements: Both you and your family members must undergo and pass a complete medical examination as part of the Canadian citizenship program. You must be examined by a physician who is listed on Canada’s Designated Medical Practitioners list.
Police certificates: Police certificates and clearances must be submitted as part of your citizenship application. The certificate must have been issued no more than three months prior to submitting your application.
Payment of fees: The processing fee must be included with your application. All other additional fees, such as medical examinations and language assessments, must also be paid for by yourself and your family members.
